Here I am compiling for you all some information on the coolest indie lit presses and literary magazines online today. If you have any more details I am missing please let me know! These are for INDIE LIT which is NOT ALT LIT so only mostly new and cool presses who don't have many alt lit ppl on them! But sometimes its hard because they also have alt lit people too but not as much as other alt lit places like Muumuu Press and Tryant (books) or Soft Skull or meville House or Sorry House or Boost House and YOU GET THE IDEA SO MANY!

New York Tyrant is like old alt lit but still does indie lit stuff. It is run by Jordan Castro and he publishes many cool indie authors and alt lit ones still too. He has stories by inde lit people like Bram and Big Bruiser Dope boy and other ppl and you should check it out: http://magazine.nytyrant.com/
Neutral Spaces is a blog and place for writers to post their writing online. It is run by Giacomo Pope and has many writers from indie lit and alt lit and even other people who aren't as cool but still do writing online at different places. It is very stylish and has many cool things in it and the blog is VERY good and has many indie lit ppl posting to it like Sam Pink and Zac Smith and almost all of my other favorites and more too. It is very cool and where u should go to find new indie writers if you want to find your own faves.
Surfaces.cx posts cool and weird stories and poems with cool and weird pictures. It is very different and has a lot of internet ideas on it. You can read many weird and cool things on it by people I have never heard of and others I do know and people in between too. It has stuff about things like internet, sci-fi even, but also alt lit kind of things and indie lit together too. It is run mostly by Elliotte now although sometimes other editors like Anthony Dragonetti is there or Dale Bret.
Gay Death Trance is owned by Big Bruiser Dope Boy and he has poems and stories by all kinds of indie lit people and other people I have never read before so his taste is eclectic but still very good. It is a cool site and looks good beause Giacomo Pope helped him do it. He is friends with alt lit people and has published Blake Butler on it and others too. But he doesn't make many new stories or poems on it but when it does it's very good always!
11:11 does books by people like Bg Bruiser Dope Boy and Sam Pink and other people now too. they are a cool indie press and coming out with more books every day!
Back Patio Press is a website and they also do books. Cavin Bryce runs it and it has lots of different things like poems and reviews and short stories. I like the stories there and they have many kinds. They do books too by people like Cavin and others. He started Back patio after Soft Cartel closed and Cavin was the editor for Soft Cartel with other people with cool names like Based Mountain. But now it's all Back Patio and cavin is very cool and he posts about grilling and pictures of his back patio so you know it's a real name for his press!
Inside the Castle books are weird and cool and from Kansas I think. The books are expensive and weird but look cool. It is not so much idie lit but experimental things but they are friends with indie lit people except some people like Sam Pink and Troy Weaver but even though people still like Inside the Castle. They have a contest where u write a book with a computer to make it like a robot wrote it which is very experimental. They are different in a cool way and have colorful books too isntead of just black and white text inside.
Young Mag is run by Martin Heffner and has cool poems and stories by people like John Trefry who runs Inside the Castle and other people in indie lit like Big Bruiser Dope Boy and "Momo" the mysterious poet in new York. Young mag doesn't have many stories but it is still cool and selective. Heffner is related to the late Hugh Hefner, yes, it is true! I read about that in an interview but it feels like he wants it to be a secret for some reason but I think it is cool! He also pays a lot of money for each poem or story he writes so if you are a cool indie lit writer and need the money you should try his magazine.
Clash Books does a LOT of books and they are cool and all kinds of books. They have some of my favorite authors books and even more too like books about ska and other weird stuff. They are run by Leza and Christoph and leza has a podcast where she interviews indie lit people and she has her own book on Clash too. They do cool books like by Greg Mania and Kim Vodicka and others and they also do poetry which is extra cool like they put out 50 Barn poems for example by Zac Smith and a book by Sam Pink and Big Bruiser Dope boy. Their books look cool and have a lot of colors and they are a fun press to follow on Twitter and instragram. Leza is cool and likes witches and CHristoph is in a band too.
Expat Press is run by manuel Marraro and he puts out MANY stories by all kinds f cool indie lit people and others. He has very cool vibes with edgy transgressive things and puts out books by people like Homeless and Atticus Davis and Mallory Smart and ANthony Dragonetti and so many more! It is veyr punk and he writes very hard to read things sometimes which is cool and different. Many people get mad at him online forsome reason but he always fights back and wins! He is in Florida and is friends with a lot of cool people for example Brian Alan Ellis and Sam Pink and he is making more books too. Many Expat ppl are weird but still cool and worth checking out if you are looking for something different and sometimes scary or sexual kind of stories and even some veyr long ones or short books too.
Disorder Press by Joseph and Mik Grantham they are poets and cool and put out some books sometimes. They have books by Bud Smith and Troy James Weaver and the poems Kokomo and Scott mcClanahan is in a picture wearing their shirt on the website! Their books are small but nice and very indie lit. They do readings too in new Orleans and Joseph is a very big indie lit star but his press is very small so you can know that each book is special and they have books that have won awards too.
Ghost City has a magazine and a lot of chapbooks and digital chapbooks and also full books. I LOVE them and they have MANY books and the magazine is cool too. They are run by Kevin and he is cool and LOVES poetry and he collects gay poetry too like from old books. Giacomo Pope's book and Mike Andrelczyk's books are on Ghost City Press for example which I think is cool but they have many others too like Andrew Tran's book of stories which is coming out ASAP! They do not put their books on Amazon for political reasons so they are truly indie which is cool too.
Heavy Athletics run by Davis Atticus and I think hestopped making it but for a long time it was very cool and had poems by different people and his own writing too. He had poems by Ben DeVos and Kai Warmoth and other indie lit people who aren't my favorites but who are still cool in indie lit and making cool poems. Atticus was also Savage Child sometimes and has books on places like Heavy Athletics and Expat Press. The website has pictures too of different stuff and he's always changing what is there.
House of Vlad is a cool press done by Brian Allen Ellis and has books by indie lit people like Bud SMith, Sam Pink, Sophie Jennis, homeless, and even alt lit ppl like Noah Cicero and other people too and more every day I think. They have covers that look cool with big font and Brian is very funny and clever about being sad and doing drugs on wtitter which is very alt lit but still new and cool. House of Vlad is just a book press and doesn't have a magazine which makes them unique in indie lit and their books are very cool and always coming out with new ones.
Thumbs Down Press is run by Sam Pink for his own books after Lazy fascist stopped making his books. I don't know if it counts as a real indie press because it is just his own books right now but I think it would be very cool if he did someone else's books too. I would buy them because Sam has good taste in books. I think he should make one for Big bruiser Dope Boy or someone else which would be cool to see. Sam is also making a chapbook but it won't be on Thumbs Down but maybe it could be!
Alien Buddha Books has zines and books by like Mike Andrelczyk and other people who are less cool indie but still ok I think. They do zines too which are books but different and have many authors in them. They were going to make a book with Daniel De Cula who is a bad guy who sends penis pictures to ppl online so they had to stop his book but that means they are still cool because they just didnt know.
ATLATL Books does books by cool indie people like Justin grimbol and new indie people too like Tex Grantham and others. They are from Ohio which is funny because a lot of books are from New York usually but these are in Ohio. Atlalt makes cool books in general and I think they will do many more. Justin Grimbol ha sa book on House of Vlad for example just like Nate Perkins and Trident books (which he does).
